Size: Individual images no larger than 150 dpi.

  • Your permanent address so we can notify you of results by letter.

PowerPoint Slide or Page #2

  • Statement about your creative goals and interests in art making.

PowerPoint Slides or Pages #3 - #12

  • 10 images that illustrate your best work. On same slide or page include title or project name, size and medium.

PowerPoint Slides or Pages #13 & 14

  • Slides that illustrate pages from your journal or sketchbook.

Save PowerPoint or Word Document as PDF and attach to email.

Dean's Portfolio Award and Other Scholarships

The scholarships awarded from the Digital Portfolio Competition are Dean's Meritorious Scholarship (DMS awards). They are for new Fine Arts students and are applicable to the first year of study. DMS awards are $500 to $1,000. Many out-of-state scholarships are available that can translate to a 50% tuition discount, and for out-of-state students are renewable each each year depending on GPA.

Please note that all applications for admission to the University and academic scholarship awards are reviewed by the Office of Admissions and the Financial Aid Office. To learn more about a variety of academic scholarship options at Winthrop, please go to Types of Financial Aid to see excellent opportunities for in-state and out-of-state students.To be considered for these academic scholarships however, the University needs to receive your Winthrop Application by February 15, 2017.

  • SAT or ACT Scores

Notification of Awards

Approximately two weeks after the October 21, 2016 deadline for digital portfolios, a letter will be sent to all participants in the merit scholarship competition, informing them of the results.

*There are other scholarships available, which require portfolio-merit competition. These are the Endowed Scholarships, and are open to all Fine Arts majors in attendance. Competition is held annually in February or early March, and the scholarships are applicable for the next academic year.
